I’m pretty sure that you have seen players showing off with their expensive stuff like end game crafted gear or mounts like the Mechano-Hog. There are many ways to make gold, but the best method continuously changes, depending on the modifications and expansions brought to the game.
So, what would be the best way to farm gold in WoW these days?
You have probably found or seen Pristine Black Diamonds drop from mobs in level 55-60 areas, but did you know how expensive they are and why? Most people don’t know about these gems increasing value and they simply sell them to vendors or auction them for small prices.
Selling Pristine Black Diamonds is maybe the best way to farm gold in WoW at the moment because 1 diamond sells for up to 500g. So, what do people need them for? Many players want “the Insane” title which can be achieved by grinding exalted reputation with several obscure factions in the game. The faction that requires Pristine Black Diamonds is a group of elves, the Shen’dralar, that live in Dire Maul.
These diamonds are very hard to find, that’s why they are pricey. So, there are 2 ways to obtain them.
1) Keep an eye on the Auction House and buy every diamond auctioned for a low price and sell it for 4-500g. As I said, many people don’t know the real value of these gems.
2) Farm them yourself. There are many places in the game with mobs that have a chance to drop them. But the drop rate is quite low, no matter where you go. Therefore, you just might waste a couple of hours killing who knows what mobs in some forgotten corner of a zone to get 1 diamond. That isn’t very effective. But on the other hand you can get lucky and get quite a few.
Now, if you are working on your “Insane in the Membrane” achievement, it’s best to farm the gold to buy these diamonds and other items that you need for that achievement. There are many methods and spots where you can make tons of gold. But then again, if you want to make some gold, gathering Pristine Black Diamonds might just be the best way to farm gold in WoW at the moment.
