Description

Super Speed. Super Tough. The eGo BlackBelt Portable Hard Drive offers a stylish look that is fast, sleek, and rugged. Now with a fast USB 3.0 interface, you can save your media in a fraction of the time ? up to 10 times faster than with USB 2.0. All Iomega USB 3.0 drives are backward compatible to USB 2.0 using the same USB cable. So enjoy fast speeds now if you have a USB 3.0 computer or use USB 2.0 and be confident you can upgrade later!

You?ll need a PC with a USB 3.0 port for the best performance. 256-bit hardware encryption built-in for data security (PC only) and Iomega Protection Suite software is included at no additional cost (via download) with antivirus and backup software. Plus, the Iomega Drop GuardTM Xtreme helps protect the drive from drops up to 7 feet! Available 1TB capacity, the eGo is protected by a 3-year limited warranty when you register your product

Review

1. Iomega eGo BlackBelt Mac Edition (1TB) by Cnet

We recommended last year’s version of the Iomega eGo Portable Mac Edition because of its impressive throughput speeds and a rugged design. Now the latest eGo BlackBelt version ups the device’s capacity to 1TB for just $220 and adds an additional drop-protection measure that wraps the drive in a tough rubber enclosure. Now with physical protection from 7-foot drops and a useful backup software suite included, the Iomega eGo Portable Mac Edition is faster and cheaper than ever. If we haven’t made ourselves clear enough, we firmly recommend this updated drive series.

2. Iomega eGo Portable Hard Drive (USB 3.0, 1TB) by Computer Shopper

Minor software frustrations aside, the eGo remains a speedy, solid contender for your portable-drive dollars, especially if your PC has USB 3.0 (or you’re considering upgrading).

3. Iomega eGo BlackBelt Hard Drive by Macnn

While Mac users can take advantage of a wide variety of external hard drives, Iomega continues to offer its eGo series with a special version already formatted in HFS+ for use with Mac OS X. The company’s eGo BlackBelt is the latest drive carrying the Mac Edition designation, with improvements to durability and capacity
