HTC Titan edge is made from metal and gives the impression of solidity. When you will talk on the phone a lot when is cold outside, you feel like your own skin literally freezes .The battery cover opens very easily.
You will find the HTC logo beautifully stylized at the front, but also at the back side where is accompanied by the warning, with the necessary quotes, that we are dealing with a smartphone that runs Windows Phone.
The phone has the following dimensions: 131.5×70.7×9.9 mm thick and 160 grams. It’s not a heavy phone, is quite thin, flawless finished with quality materials.
Screen and sound
Integrates a super-size screen of 4.7 inch, S-LCD type with 480×800 pixel resolution and 16 million colors. At its base there are three capacitive buttons with the role of Back, Home and search which is directly predetermined by Bing. The screen gives you quality view because it has a wide viewing angle. It is recommended for films or video clips. You can watch a show without any problems. The S-LCD’s generally doesn’t have high contrast and through the bright sunlight leaves room for improvement comparing to SuperAMOLED, but the WP7 interface in powerful color and display size makes the HTC Titan to not feel the effect of glare.
The sound comes from a speaker disposed on the back side near to the 8 megapixels camera. It sounds strong and clear. When the phone is at the maximum volume , the shell starts to vibrate lightly. When you hold it in landscape mode you may obstruct the speaker and the sound will get distorted. The 3.5 mm jack is found on top of the phone. The sound offered is high quality.
Windows Phone did not made the step to the dual-core phones and most phones that accept it as the operating system are clocked at 1 GHz. HTC Titan brings a single core at 1.5 GHz frequency, 512 MB RAM and 16 GB of storage, without a slot for microSD cards. The graphics are complemented by Adreno 205 GPU. In browsing with IE for smartphones it moves exemplary.
Operating system and applications
It runs Windows Phone version 7.5 Mango. There are no notable differences as functionality compared to Windows Phone launched in October 2010. Windows Phone 7 Marketplace is more populated with over 40,000 applications, milestone reached a few days ago. You will find loads of applications, but the most interesting are largely paid and prices are modest.
At the top you will find the 3.5 mm jack,the start and stop button and also the lock and unlock button of the touch display. On the right side volume controls are located which are oversized and a dedicated button for the 8 Megapixel camera.
