Reviews:

1. Gateway NV51B05u Laptop Review by IcCellPhone

All the way from Gateway there is a new laptop available which is codenamed of Gateway NV51B05u Laptop. We all know that Gateway is one of the biggest manufactures all over the world. As for this device, it comes with some powerful features as well as other information such as price tag.

2. Gateway NV51B05u – Fusion E350 1.6GHz – 15.6-inch TFT by Cnet

We don’t like cheap laptops, but we love inexpensive ones. The difference is one of degree; a cheap laptop looks and feels shoddy, and woefully underperforms. An inexpensive laptop uses its budget wisely, offering a reasonable mix of components at a reasonable price, and doesn’t try to unfairly raise consumer expectations. AMD’s Fusion platform, which packs a CPU and discrete GPU together, has been a hit on inexpensive 11-inch ultraportables, but translating it to a larger 15-inch laptop is another story. At that size, user expectations are quite different, and the handful of attempts we’ve seen at using an Intel Atom or other low-power chip in a midsize laptop have all been failures.

3. Gateway NV51B05u by ComputerShopper

Let’s face it: Most of us will rarely use all the processing power that today’s typical dual-core laptop can deliver. So with the Gateway NV51B05u, parent company Acer is betting there’s a market for a mainstream notebook with good-enough performance at an eye-poppingly low price. For just $469, you get a bright 15.6-inch screen, a comfortable keyboard with a number pad, and some 3D-graphics abilities. No, it doesn’t perform like a Core i3 (or even a Core 2 Duo) notebook, and as with all budget machines, the company has made some compromises to hit the low price. But for students, grandparents, or anyone in between that needs just the basics, the NV51B05u is worth a look.

New quad-core Intel Core i7 processors are standard on the 15- and 17-inch MacBook Pro. And the 13-inch models feature the new dual-core Intel Core i5 processor or the fastest dual-core processor available — the Intel Core i7. All the models use Intel’s recently refined chipsets. So what does all that mean for the new MacBook Pro models? Bottom line: They perform up to twice as fast as the previous generation,1 breezing through demanding tasks like editing HD video, compiling audio, or rendering a multilayered image file. And since Mac OS X Snow Leopard is designed to take advantage of every processor core, it captures every last bit of performance from the processor.

Reviews:

1. Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch (Core i7) by LaptopMag

Nearly a year has passed since Apple released its updated 15-inch MacBook Pro, featuring a unibody aluminum construction, SD Card slot, and a longer-lasting lithium ion battery. Now, the Cupertino-based company has incorporated a few important upgrades under the hood to supercharge this elegant machine (starting at $1,799; $2,199 as configured). These enhancements include the long-awaited Intel Core i7 processor, capable of overclocking on the fly, and automatic graphics-switching technology that makes moving from integrated to discrete graphics mode all but invisible to the user. Best of all, even with the jump from Core 2 Duo to Core i7, Apple has managed to deliver all-day battery life. These are collectively welcome improvements, but are they enough to justify the premium? Yup.

2. MacBook Pro Core i7 Review by Engadget

While the MacBook Pro is just another Intel-based computer with standard internals, slightly inflated price tags, and a familiar (if legendary) design sense, Apple having the absolute corner on the market for building machines that legitimately run OS X can be a little rough on the upgrade obsessed. Waiting 10 months for a new computer, without an industry full of hungry competitors with wild alternatives to quench your thirst, can be difficult, and the January launch of Intel’s new Core i5 and Core i7 chips for laptops further fueled the saliva. Still, Apple would like you to believe these new MacBook Pros with their 2010-ready internals and same-as-last-year good looks have been worth the wait. Find out for yourself in our full review after the break.

3. Apple MacBook Pro Winter 2011 (2.7GHz Core i7, 13-inch) by Cnet

The 13-inch MacBook Pro is the most affordable of Apple’s high-end laptops. With the admittedly supercharged 15-inch version starting at a princely $1,799, the 13-inch model’s starting price of $1,199 is the one many consumers will likely consider first. Its size is also ideal, and in fact, we’ve long considered 13 inches to be the sweet spot in laptops for usability and portability. The question is: does the smaller Pro deliver the processing punch that last year’s lacked?

The U41JF-A1 has respectable specifications for the money, especially considering all this is packed into a 14-inch laptop that measures just 1.1 inches thin. The Nvidia GT 425M graphics card is more than powerful enough to run the latest games. The two-year warranty coverage is notable and it includes one year of accidental damage protection; similar coverage is extra on competing notebooks.

Asustek Computer may still be best known for its low-cost Netbooks, and occasional high-end reaches such as its Republic of Gamers desktop replacements, but the company churns out a fair number of middle-of-the-road systems as well. The Asus U41JF is a solidly built 14-inch notebook that will work fine for nearly any mainstream task, but at the same time is no bargain at $849. Worse, it’s easily outclassed in the design department by its 13-inch cousin, the Asus U36JC, which costs around the same, but is thinner, lighter, and more attractive, and has similar discrete graphics and a better processor.

Why did Samsung make a 7” Tablet—because we’re into mobility and know that people are looking for compact communication and entertainment devices they can slip in their pocket and bring on the go. The Galaxy Tab is always connected, lightweight and smart. Its exceptional screen is designed for reading books and magazines, watching movies and playing games. The Galaxy Tab builds on the rich content experience provided by the Galaxy S line of Android smartphone.

With 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth® 3.0, the Galaxy Tab takes mobile communication to a whole new level. By combining Samsung innovation with the Android 2.2 Platform, the Tab is truly a communication and entertainment tool. Its large battery (4,000 mAh) provides more than 7 hours of movie viewing time and because it’s powered by a Cortex A8 1.0GHz application processor, it’s designed to deliver high performance.

Review

1. Samsung Galaxy Tab (U.S. Cellular) by Cnet

Since the arrival of the Apple iPad in April of 2010, we’ve seen a handful of competitors step up with inexpensive tablet alternatives in all shapes and sizes. With the Galaxy Tab, Samsung has created a true peer of the iPad: an uncompromising product that stakes out new territory in terms of both design and features.

2. Samsung Galaxy Tab Review: A Pocketable Train Wreck by Gizmodo

Put simply, the Galaxy Tab is the first post-iPad tablet that matters, because it’s the first tablet that’s trying to be legitimate competition. It aims to break a lot of ground. Powered by iOS’s biggest rival, the Tab essentially kicks off the next generation of tablets. And, at the size of a paperback, it’s one of the first to seriously test how well a seven-inch tablet really works. There’s a lot riding on this thing.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab is the first major tablet release since the Apple iPad launched about five months ago.

It’s been a long time coming, too. The Galaxy Tab was one of the all-time worst kept secrets in tech until it was finally unveiled at Berlin’s IFA show back in September, and as the first major Android tablet release, it holds a weight of responsibility on its shoulders.

With the ENVY17, we’re redefining what a laptop can be. The ENVY 17 brings some of the most advanced technologies together in a design that satisfies the most demanding users.

Every inch of this expansive laptop is optimized for powerful performance, including the choice of the Intel® Core™ i7 processor or the Intel® Core™ i5 processor2, to satisfy the most demanding tech-enthusiasts. A 17.3″ diagonal Ultra Brightview Infinity widescreen display and ATI Mobility Radeon™ discrete graphics, coupled with up to an incredible 2TB of storage8, make the ENVY17 ideal for creative projects, games, and media.

Reviews

1. Review – HP Envy 17 3D Gaming Laptop PC by Compreviews.about.com

The HP Envy 17 3D is one of the first gaming laptops to hit the market with AMD’s new 3D technology. Similar to NVIDIA 3D Vision, AMD HD3D Technology utilizes active shutter glasses to display 3D content. Currently, the top games supported by AMD HD3D include Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Dragon Age, Mass Effect 2, and Wolfenstein.

The standard HP Envy 17 3D is equipped with an Intel Core i7-720QM processor that runs at 1.6GHz with Turbo Boost up to 2.8GHz. Although many gaming laptops now include the Intel Core i7-740QM, the $1,599 price tag on the Envy 17 3D makes up for the minimal difference in speed.

2. HP Envy 17 3D by Laptopmag.com

Go big or go home. That’s the mantra of the HP Envy 17 3D. This large but stylish desktop replacement features an Intel Core i7 processor, powerful ATI graphics, a 3D-capable, full HD display, and a Blu-ray player. Starting at $1,599 ($1,649 as configured), the 3D version of the notebook costs the same as a similarly equipped non-3D version we reviewed just three months ago. Sounds like a sweet deal. But how does this machine stack up to laptops powered by Nvidia’s 3D Vision technology? And is there enough 3D content to make donning those glasses worth the trouble? Our in-depth review reveals all.

3. HP Envy 17 3D by Cnet.com

HP’s second-generation Envy laptops have been favorites of ours, combining sleek design, solid construction, and high-end components, all for a reasonable price (at least compared with the first generation of Envy laptops). The latest version of the Envy 17, one might call it generation 2.5, adds 3D capabilities.

While the feature-packed Envy 17 includes a Blu-ray drive, both HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, and a USB 3.0 port, the addition of 3D hardware and active-shutter glasses isn’t as much fun as it could be. Instead of using Nvidia’s well-established 3D Vision platform,
